AI glossary for operators

Plain-English definitions of the AI terms running through every operator conversation right now. No jargon. Updated as the language evolves.

AI Agent

An AI program that can take actions on its own — read your email, post to your CRM, send a message — instead of just answering questions. The distinction from "chatbot": chatbots talk; agents do. Modern agents are usually built on a large language model plus a set of tools it can call.

Blotato

A content distribution tool that takes a single post and fans it out across every social platform (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Substack) with platform-specific formatting. Also generates AI Story Videos from text. Used in my own content stack.

ElevenLabs

Voice cloning and AI narration tool. Trains on a sample of your voice (or a stock voice) and generates natural-sounding speech from text. Used for podcast voiceovers, faceless video narration, and voice-cloned phone responses. Industry standard for production-quality AI voice.

Faceless content

Content created and posted without ever showing a human face — narrated by AI voice, illustrated by AI images or stock footage, scripted and edited by AI tools. Zillow Gone Wild is a faceless content account. So is most of TikTok's "weird AI stories" category. The model: build an audience without burning a personal brand.

GoHighLevel (GHL)

All-in-one CRM, marketing automation, scheduling, and pipeline tool aimed at agencies and service businesses. The "operating system" for most service-business AI stacks I build. Native MCP support shipped in early 2026. See the SYSTEM blueprint for how it ties everything together.

Lead magnet

A free resource (PDF, template, checklist, mini-course) you give away in exchange for an email. The 5 blueprints on this site are lead magnets. Done right, they pre-qualify subscribers — people who download a specific blueprint are demonstrating exactly what they care about.

ManyChat

Comment-to-DM automation platform for Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms. Someone comments a keyword like "STACK" on your post, ManyChat automatically DMs them the link. The connective tissue between viral content and a captured lead. Used in the SYSTEM blueprint.

MCP

also: Model Context Protocol

Open standard for connecting AI assistants to the apps you use — Gmail, QuickBooks, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Stripe, and so on. Released by Anthropic in late 2024. Before MCP, every AI integration was custom. After MCP, an AI can call any supported app without a developer in the loop. Full breakdown.

Multiagent orchestration

Running multiple AI agents in parallel, with one "lead" agent that breaks a job into pieces and routes each piece to a specialist. Example: a research agent finds story angles, a writer agent drafts the script, an editor agent runs the voice check. Anthropic shipped this in Claude Managed Agents in early 2026.

Operator Filter

The methodology behind everything I recommend on this site. A tool has to pass the Operator Filter to make it into a blueprint: used live inside one of my three businesses (Celebrate in 360, Revenue Reclaimer, real estate), or personally verified by direct testing. Not theory. Not demos. Real money, real workflows, on real days. More on the Filter.

Opus Clip

AI tool that takes a long-form video (podcast episode, YouTube upload, livestream) and automatically chops it into platform-specific short clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Adds captions, hooks, and B-roll. Effectively converts one long recording into 10-15 social posts.

Prompt

The instruction you give an AI. The difference between a generic AI output and a useful one is almost always the prompt. Good operator prompts include: who you are, what the AI is helping with, the format you want back, and any constraints (length, tone, audience). The CLAUDE blueprint on this site is a brand-bible prompt template.

RAG

also: Retrieval-Augmented Generation

A pattern for giving AI assistants access to your specific documents. Instead of relying only on what the AI was trained on, RAG lets the AI search a body of your content — knowledge base, past emails, internal docs — and use that as context. For operators: how you'd build an AI that actually knows YOUR business, not just generic business advice.

Substack

Newsletter platform with built-in subscription, payment, and community features. Where I publish the daily Crazy Ways AI Gets Money newsletter. The "Notes" feature (think micro-blog) doubles as a discovery layer. Free for free newsletters; takes 10% for paid.

Tool use

When an AI model can call external functions — search the web, run a calculation, query a database, send an email — instead of only generating text. MCP is the standard that makes tool use portable across apps. "Tool use" plus an LLM plus a goal equals an AI agent.

Vapi

Voice AI platform for building phone agents. Answers calls, qualifies leads, books appointments, runs intake interviews — all in natural conversation. Used in the SYSTEM blueprint as the front end that catches missed calls and after-hours inquiries. Pairs with GoHighLevel and ManyChat in most service-business stacks.

Voice agent

An AI that talks on the phone — inbound calls, outbound calls, or both. Built on a voice AI platform like Vapi or Bland. The operator use case: capturing every missed call, every after-hours inquiry, and every cold lead without hiring a receptionist. The fastest-growing category in service-business AI.

Workflow

The chain of steps from a trigger to an outcome. "When a new lead fills out the form, send an email, log them in HubSpot, kick off a 5-touch follow-up sequence, and notify me on Slack" is a workflow. Workflows are what AI automates. The blueprint isn't the AI — it's the workflow the AI runs.

Zapier

Pre-MCP integration platform. Connects apps via "if X happens in app A, then do Y in app B" recipes. Still useful for apps that don't have MCP yet, and for simple linear automations. For complex multi-step AI workflows, MCP is replacing it fast.

One blueprint a week. Free.

The newsletter goes deeper than the glossary — specific workflows, tool stacks, real costs, the operator angle on what's actually worth building. Subscribe and you'll get the 5 starter blueprints plus the new one every Saturday.
